I Get Long Gooey Strings In My Eyes

Il "fiaccheraio" & Le frittelle d'arancia

"The cabby was the driver of the weak, the French Italianization Fiacre, or "vehicle square", ie the coaches available to citizens and tourists. In 1869 the 518 hackney drivers were authorized by the municipality, they have to dress in a uniform way to keep the carriages in the best condition and be courteous to customers and make Transport in accordance with the rates. Then the cabby was wearing a sort of uniform consisting of a giacchettone two chests with blue pants, white shirt, black tie or white hat. The cabby became an emblematic figure of Florence popular among the century, a type characteristic of the square driver of the car but also knowledge of history and monuments, which accompanied the city tour with stories and anecdotes, all dressed in typical Florentine spirit. "On the wheelchair," by Edward Spadaro, one of Florence's most famous songs, is in its way, a little ode to the world disappeared and characteristic of the "square" and "road" scenario of public and private events. under the arms of your beloved.
A box is the coachmen,
or loses an eye,
look inside the coach
then smiles and winks.
The horse knows how to go
if there's a couple.
Running wrong, is the beautiful city
and then there's no hurry. How delightful to go
on wheelchair
and wheelchair
the arm to your beautiful ... "

pancakes orange
the scent of vanilla

Ingredients
(For the batter, there are no precise doses) Milk to taste, to taste flour, egg, sugar to taste, baking powder to taste, natural taste of vanilla essence, orange oil, for frying.
Preparation
Wash the orange and baking soda and water, without peeling, cut it into thin slices about half a centimeter. Prepare a batter rather dense and compact, with flour, milk, egg and sugar, add a few teaspoons of baking powder and a few drops of vanilla essence. Dip in batter and fry the orange slices in hot oil. As you are ready, pat dry on paper towels and put them in granulated sugar. Enjoy it hot or cold and enjoy the intense citrus notes that blend with the delicate aroma of vanilla. With this recipe I participate in the contest "Citrus" by Cynthia

Bon Appétit!
