MILAN

In Milan, nearly 100 people have been on the afternoon of Sunday, January 31 to represent the slaughter of animals in front of the city center.
We have attracted the attention of many passers-by for over 3 hours, thanks to forty activists dressed in black, with white masks all the same, chained together and with patches of white cloth with the serial numbers on the chest. In this so we wanted to draw the depersonalization of animals raised and slaughtered, that individuals from Distin and irreducible to one another become numbers, objects, and lose the expression of their faces so they can fatten, exploit and kill without thinking of their suffering . From the speakers, meanwhile, were spreading the screams of animals recorded in those slaughterhouses that we would forever closed. Numerous signs and banners were displayed by dozens of other activists. What we have chosen to express in words the meaning of the performance said, "When someone becomes something ...".
During the performance, taken from the RAI, which has interviewed a number of participants, we projected images Movies on breeding and slaughter, as he explained to the megaphone effect and the reasons for the demand for abolition of meat.
We distributed flyers about two thousand, and test polls on the proposal for abolition of the flesh, provoking reactions of interest, curiosity, solidarity expressed by people not even vegetarian, and of course with disapproval by some passer-by who felt threatened in his "right" to enjoy this extermination.
The impact of the "scene" has been very satisfactory, and we can not thank all those that lent themselves to achieve maximum effectiveness in this moment of mobilization.

OLBIA

Our defense was fine in Olbia Us all very happy!
We started at 17 and finished at 20. We were in 15 and had gone through all the dominoes and the white mask, a sign to head with various messages and the sidewalk surrounded by small lamps turned on. Cartel could read the number of animals killed every second minuto, giorno e anno, ecc. ...

Trattandosi di una "veglia" per gli animali, eravamo vestiti in black and wore white masks as has been done in other cities. What has most intrigued the many passers-by are certainly been the "tombstones" with pictures of farm animals, accompanied by several candles mortuary. All this, accompanied by banners and other themed images, and choreography was really no doubt "displaced" people, who reacted in different ways: we have been approached by many, sharing the initiative, wanted to show their solidarity, many stopped to read plaques and banners, while others accepted with some embarrassment that some of the flyers we handed out, some parents were in serious trouble explaining to their children what we were facendo, e perché "carne = morte"....

BOLOGNA
Saturday morning at 11 am we set a meeting with activists from Bologna to take stock of the situation and see how many we were and how we could possibly "divide the areas."
I presented the meeting with the ns. Catherine mascot, chicken saved from the slaughterhouse more than 2 ½ years ago and has since lived in an apartment with me and follows me everywhere, especially in the parks.
we have done so while he was attacking a pair of leaflets in preparation for the sit-in to be held the next day (Leaflets, however, even today, Monday, February 1, none has taken steps to remove).
Unfortunately the weather did not allow us the proper conduct of the sit-in and day mobilization scheduled for January 31, 2010 has been transformed into a race er take as many buses as possible to leave the flyer on the bulletin boards with our claims to ABOLISH THE FLESH! Simo

ROVIGO

Rovigo also participated in the World by Venus in Fur. We staged the funeral of some animals by forming plaques in polystyrene for Lola the cow, Babe the pig, the hen Polly and Bunny the rabbit. The tombstones reported the average life of each animal: 5 years instead of 20 for Lola, a few months to Polly, and Bunny Babe. To passers-by were given a survey to the bill on the abolition of the flesh, an explanatory leaflet and a holy card with the effigy of the dead. The people remained affected, some were frightened by his widow in mourning ... ... Despite the nasty comments (instead of wasting paper ...) and various recalcitrance due to bad habits ("ah, if I do not take away the flesh I live") many people were sympathetic and several have stopped to ask for more information. The message more difficult to get across is that the animals are all alike, and just like us. If it shows that we treat dogs differently than chickens just because we are so accustomed and we eat cows and cats, not because we were born in Italy and not in Korea, well, any justification for holding that makes sense and slowly people are aware of the contradiction that we live. Maybe we just need to put more emphasis and approach and be more effective with messages. It is only a matter of time. We are right. More info on our blog

LECCE

We were super-equipped, with gazebo informative signs with words and numbers on the massacre of animals taken for food, plexiglass panels on which were posted images from farms and slaughterhouses, memorial stones with lots of votive candles, and, finally, projector to show movies with towel regarding the theme of the day. In short, everything seemed perfect if it were not for the rain which, after all, instead of dropping copious and uniform, it was unfriendly and led us to again and again to rearrange and remove towel and projector ... in any way we could project movies just for this inconstancy of time. And the flyer was a hiccup for the same reason. However, interest there has been. In so many guys, but also families with children as a result, they stopped to look at the pictures and read the tombstones, there was even someone like a girl, was so impressed by swear that will never touch meat again .. . we hope to do it really. Were it not for the capricious weather, surely we would have enjoyed much success, partly because the place where we were, and that is rarely granted for such events, it was very strategic, not only because it is in the center but also because it is right in front of McDonald's!

At World day for the abolition of meat we played the card of dismal: standing side by side, dressed in black with white masks, holding up the PC with the video of slaughterhouse (high volume to hear the screams.) At our feet, signs blacks with the number of animals slaughtered each year, month, day, hour, minute and second mortuary lit by red lights. We were stuck on the tarmac, in various directions, some signs with words of Leonardo da Vinci, Gandhi, Plutarch, and others with scientific data on pollution and world hunger. Besides this, a small photographic exhibition, distribution of flyers, and talk to the megaphone.
E 'was certainly a demonstration effect: sometimes more than distribute the flyers I've just delivered due to the extended hands, and many people stopped to watch the video, the group of children to the lord anzianotto. Grabbed the wheel without detaching his eyes from the screen. Usually when there is already someone stop stop all the others, so we have adopted several strategies to not ever be without result, for example, instead of only distribute the flyer sponsored the presence of video, especially to those who passed on the pavement opposite. As for the talk, though - at least for what has happened to me-unlike the other times she stopped to talk a lot of people especially hostile: I can not explain it except by cutting given to this event, very different from other more "quiet", or a series of coincidences planet. There were people who said they felt sorry for the animals, but "before the animals must think of those poor people who lose their jobs." Antipaticissimi two veterinary students, spocchiosissimi, they told me that they know so much more nutrition than me, I read the articles on the Internet. In their view, it's me that I must inform me (I. ..). In their view does not seem that I am very well (next time along with pictures of slaughtered lambs also expose my blood tests). According to them without the meat you can not do sport (a matter of fact .. it is well known that the Orientals, who eat at least once little or zero meat for religious reasons, have never been good at martial arts). Then they saw in the distance, their professor of physiology and threatened to call me nicely for me to explain why a carrot is suffering as a pet (no comment). By others, the usual accusation of inconsistency, I wonder why they always think about our shoes, but do not take us in!
We have not spared even the foreigners)
In short, the garrison a little more challenging than others, but we also saw the familiar faces, people that every time you stop talking and take material, maybe it's just going to take the plunge ... And for those with whom I have not spoken because they were dumb watching the video, I hope that they too are "just about to."

GENOA

In Genoa, the second International Day for the Abolition of Meat was held Saturday, January 30, 2010, from 15 to 19, in the main street of the center the city.
There were about fifteen people. We have set up an information table and we made flyers. In a few moments stopped our activities of leafleting and stand in silence with our lighted candles and pictures of animals with a black band in the corner. While we were the scene of mourning for the passing animals were more curious and looked at our table with the material more carefully, someone came up just to ask for the why of our event.
We can be satisfied with our defense, despite the indifference of so many great people and the "fear" than others to get just thinking about these issues that may involve a change that many are not yet ready to face.
