Il 31 gennaio 2009 avrà luogo la prima edizione della Giornata Mondiale per l'Abolizione della Carne.
Cos'è la Giornata Mondiale per l'Abolizione della Carne?
La Giornata Mondiale per l'Abolizione della Carne vuole promuovere presso il grande pubblico la rivendicazione politica di abolizione dell'assassinio of animals for food. Six million sentient beings are killed worldwide every hour (!) To be turned into flesh, without even counting the massacre of fish and the suffering of cows and laying hens, recluses, exploited and finally killed at a young age.
The consumption of meat and animal products cause more suffering and death of every other human activity, though not at all necessary.
Many collective will mobilize to promote the prospect of the abolition of meat. It will not simply encourage individuals to become vegetarians and vegans, but say, before society, the practice of murder animals to eat them should be abolished . We hope that this initiative will strengthen the movement of animals over the years. It is important to contact consumers asking them not to buy animal products, but we must begin to turn also citizens, as did the activists for the abolition of slavery: they, despite being in the minority, not only asking people to boycott sugar produced by slaves, but also explicitly expressed the idea that slavery should be abolished. It is important now clearly challenged the whole society on the subject of meat, so that it can no longer avoid the consequences of a debate public on the legality of this practice.
On this day of awareness will be organized conferences, actions in the streets, leafleting, information tables, to spread the idea that the consumption of meat is not justified from an ethical point of view and therefore must be abolished - in the same way that human slavery was abolished.
